Love me a vineyard! My college town of Raleigh, North Carolina is not known for its high number of vineyards. However, I was extremely excited when my friends and I found a local winery that brews their own wine in house right in our area. Chatham Hill Winery is located 10 minutes away from my college’s campus and provides a wide variety of different types of wines. Each of us had an amazing time visiting and we cannot wait to go again!
Blueberry, mango, strawberry, and apple, OH MY! Unlike most vineyards, Chatham Hill Winery is rather a wine bar with both indoor and outdoor seating. This winery is also a great place to host an event as it’s proudly an event venue, too. As it comes to the wine selection, Chatham Hill Winery has everything from sweet to savory – there is indeed something for everyone. I am someone who enjoys sweet wine’s/rose’s and was extremely psyched to see that there were 7+ wine’s with fruit infused in them. I most definitely enjoyed sampling 6 of these extraordinary wine creations!
After we enjoyed our wine tasting, our waiter brought us to the back where we got to take a behind the scenes tour of where ALL the wine is made. We got to sample wine before all of the flavoring is added, which was super neat to get a before and after feel of it all. Along with making wine in-house the back of the winery is also complete with a wine bar and stage for live music performances and private events. Definitely a place that holds the best of both worlds!
If you LOVE wine and want a local place to go, whether visiting Raleigh or a local, definitely check out Chatham Hill Winery – you will NOT be disappointed. We surely were not!
