Why I Switched to an Annual FabFitFun Membership

Every 3 months, I share my quarterly FabFitFun subscription box picks and purchases on my Instagram (follow me @_thepinkchickadee!). I have been a BIG fan of FabFitFun since my friend Briana got me hooked on it back in October 2020 when they included a set of Lilly Pulitzer mugs in their Winter 2020 box. In the years since, I have been HOOKED on FabFitFun. So much that I switched from my FabFitFun Seasonal subscription to an Annual subscription. Today, I am spilling ALLL the tea on why I did!

Back in the day when I first registered for my FabFitFun Seasonal membership/subscription, I was in my Senior year of college where spending approximately $200 for an Annual Membership upfront was a bit of a hike. So, I started off with a Seasonal membership where I could pay approximately $49.99 (the cost in 2020) per box. At the same time, I also wanted to make sure that I liked FabFitFun before giving it my all on an Annual membership, too. If you are considering whether or not FabFitFun is worth it for YOU, then look no further than here: https://pinkchickadee.com/2021/08/21/is-fabfitfun-worth-it/#/

So, for some context, FabFitFun is a quarterly subscription box (Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter) filled with items worth a value of over $200. You pay approximately $49.99 a box. Items come from ALL of the name brands that you see and hear about on a regular basis. Those brands (which change per season, though) are listed for you below (I listed some of my favorites and highlights!!):

  • Lilly Pulitzer
  • Living Proof
  • Kate Spade
  • Draper James
  • Tula
  • Mark & Graham
  • Golden Rabbit
  • Coach
  • Rae Dunn
  • Grown Alchemist
  • Unhide
  • Hourglass
  • Wander Beauty
  • Corkcicle
  • Ahava
  • Kate Somerville
  • Summer & Rose
  • Society6
  • Chic & Tonic
  • Arhaus
  • The Frye Collection
  • Lele Sadoughi
  • Ban.do
  • Alice + Olivia
  • Isaac Mizrahi
  • OPI
  • Lucky Brand
  • Rebecca Minkoff
  • Hamilton Beach
  • Spongelle
  • Laura Geller
  • Invisibobble
  • Anastasia Beverly Hills
  • Nectar
  • Alpine Cuisine

& the BEST PART?! Items from MANY of these brands are there for you to choose within your FabFitFun seasonal box each season! Yes, FabFitFun boxes are customized per season with a customization window for each membership. If you are an Annual Member (like myself!), your customization window opens a few days at least before Seasonal Members’ do. With each box, you get to pick 4-6 items per box to customize it with. As a Seasonal Member, you only get 4 customizations, while an Annual Member gets 6 customizations. These items are all mostly full-sized items and there is an option to have a surprise customization, too, for each of the 4-6 customizations within your box.

Along with a box for $49.99 FILLED with several full-sized goodies, FabFitFun also has Add-On’s at an additional, which include adding on items to your box from ALL of the following listed brands and MORE. Usually, items that are Add-On’s are not apart of the FabFitFun box customizations for that season, although, you can add items from a FabFitFun box that are in addition to a selected customization at an additional cost when you customize (say, there are two items within a customization that you want, you can always add the second item at an additional cost to you). Add-On’s are always sold at a much lesser cost than if you were to buy that item from its corresponding brand’s retail store. For example, I have seen some pretty great items within the Add-On’s for each FabFitFun season. These items include EVEN *YES EVEN* Versace and Burberry and even Prada sunglasses for under $250 (I’m not familiar with the regular pricing of these sunglasses since I don’t buy luxury sunglasses so I guess that is a good deal haha!) AND Lele Sadoughi earrings for $24. To me, Add-On’s can be a hit or a miss. Last Spring 2022 was a HIT for me, whereas, Winter 2021 was more of a miss for me. One of the best parts of the FabFitFun Add-On’s is that you can usually donate $5-$100 or even $200 to a charity of the company’s choosing for that season. Winter 2021 had an Add-On to donate to Toys for Tots – a charity my family regularly supports! Each season, I always look at the Add-On’s as I can get some pretty great scores at a fraction of the cost, too.

NOW, for why I switched to an Annual FabFitFun membership. The main reason I switched to an Annual FabFitFun membership was to pay for my 4 seasonal boxes all upfront instead of quarter by quarter, as I knew that I would continue to want a box each season. I feel VERY grateful that I have a great full time job that allows me to afford for fun things like FabFitFun, too! Just like using 4 in 1 pay services like AfterPay or Klarna, it adds up to pay for everything in quarters rather than all at once. My good fellow influencer friend and small business owner, Holly of Glitter & Daisies, emphasized how she LOVES that she can customize her FabFitFun boxes each season KNOWING that she has already paid for it. SAME! That being said, Holly’s viewpoint of getting an Annual membership helped me switch over to one myself, as well. It’s really nice to be able to go in and customize my box knowing that I have already paid for it for the ENTIRE YEAR and then just have to worry about paying for Add-On’s each quarter if I so choose to get some. At the same time, I get access earlier and more customizations than Seasonal Members. So, it’s a win-win!

Since switching to an Annual FabFitFun membership, I have not regretted it! I really enjoy being able to pay upfront for all of my seasonal boxes for the year (with the exception of Add-On’s and additional box customizations), get Early Access to customizations and Add-On’s each season, and get more customizations than if I were to have a Seasonal membership. Personally, I find it more cost-effective AND more bang for my buck to have the FabFitFun Annual membership. It’s a win-win!!!

The Life of Katie!

Most recently, I have been living out the hustle and bustle. Personally, I love love love the hustle! And, lately my life has been FILLED with nothing but the hustle and bustle. Life has been crazy, but it’s been good too. Here’s a peak into my life. And, if you want more updates into my life on the daily, then follow me on Instagram (@_thepinkchickadee).

  • Getting a work desk! – The most exciting highlight of these recent times have been getting a work desk!!! It’s the little things, y’all! I got assigned a work desk earlier this past week, since I got onboarded into the company in the heart of COVID-19, specifically citing the Delta variant times in the Summer of 2021 which extended my work from home times. Although I will be working from home for most likely the majority of my working days moving forward, I will be going into the office a few days a week, give or take, too. The other day, I went into the office and brought a HUGE Scout bag packed to the rim with stuff that I had gotten the day before via a shopping spree to both Walmart and Target to my desk that to my splendid surprise was actually much larger than I expected! It’s in a great location on my team’s floor, too. Let me tell y’all, I felt so so so welcome by simply coming into the office and having a desk that is my own. Luckily, I will be going in more often than I have in the past!
  • Car shopping – Recently, I have started the car shopping process. Last Fall, I car shopped a bit, BUT took a pause due to my busy work life and adjusting to working full time. Similarly speaking, y’all, the CAR MARKET SUCKS at this moment. Y’all, shopping for a car sucks during this trying times with inflation and all. It’s NOT easy! But, I am super excited to get back on the bandwagon of shopping for a car that I will have as my own for the next few years and perhaps beyond. The car that I have been driving now I have a very special bond with to say the least. I am sad to stop driving that sweet car that I have loved so so so much, BUT I am also excited for many more memories in my new future car. Through it all, I feel very very lucky that I am in a financial situation where I can afford a new car and actually make the car shopping experience something that is attainable for me and a good investment in the long run.
  • Blue Light Glasses – A few weeks ago, I put in my order for my FabFitFun Spring 2022 box. And, I ordered some blue light glasses as apart of my Add-On’s. Let’s just say that since I put these glasses on, I have NOT wanted to take them off! Y’all, I do not know how I didn’t make the effort to buy them sooner, especially with my work from home life.
  • FabFitFun Spring 2022 Box – Last week, my FabFitFun Spring 2022 box arrived in the mail! Funny story – it arrived JUST as I was heading out the door to catch my flight for my Girl’s weekend to Raleigh, North Carolina for my best friend Alanna’s 25th Birthday (read more about the Lilly Pulitzer-themed Birthday Party that me and my friend Hannah threw for her here!). Personally, I like to go *just* a bit crazy with my FabFitFun boxes and my Spring 2022 box was NO exception. I got A TON of new and exciting goodies to ring in the Spring 2022 season that feels SO close yet SO far away – we’ve enjoyed some warm weather here in the Washington, DC area for a few days before reverting back to some cold rain and wind the next day. Needless to say, I am excited to enjoy my Spring 2022 FabFitFun goodies in the coming weeks!!
*Some* of my many FabFitFun Spring 2022 Box picks PLUS my Ipsy February 2022 pouch!

Now, I want to know what’s going on in y’all’s lives! Comment here – I’d LOVE to know đŸ™‚

Is FabFitFun Worth It?!

A few weeks ago, I was out with some friends when the topic of the well-known FabFitFun subscription box came up. As a loyal FabFitFun subscription fan, I sometimes think that everyone knows just how awesome it is like I do. BUT, I was long and behold WRONG. By this time, most of us have heard of FabFitFun from somewhere along the rainbow. At the same time, many of us may not know what it is exactly and decipher whether or not it is worth it to buy. Many of us fellow influencers LOVE and know FabFitFun. For others, it may be unfamiliar territory. So, I will be breaking down all the facts about the FabFitFun subscription box. Hopefully by the end of this post, YOU can decide for yourself whether or not FabFitFun is worth it for YOU!

***Now, before I get into ALLL the details, I wanted to disclose that this is not a sponsored post. All opinions within this post are mine and mine only. Additionally, I am a loyal FabFitFun lover and subscriber. Although I will probably continue to share my love for FabFitFun throughout this post, it is important to note that a FabFitFun box or even subscription may not be for everybody. Everybody has a different financial situation and/or desires for the products that they want to try, too.***

What is FabFitFun and how much does it cost?

FabFitFun is a subscription box that is customizable to its customers. It is a seasonal subscription box that delivers right to their customers’ doorsteps four times a year – Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter. The products within each box are full-sized and only come at a cost of $45-$50/box (depending on which plan you choose). There is also an option to add-on as many items as you so choose at an additional cost: one that is approximately 50%-70% off the retail price of the item. At the same time, the FabFitFun site also offers year-round flash sales where all members can purchase new items at up to a whooping 70% off!! As a member, I also get updates all the time on the latest and greatest when it comes to FabFitFun, whether it be brand-new flash sales, sneak peeks at items to put into my customizable seasonal box, or customer surveys to help determine what items should be options in future seasonal boxes.

FabFitFun has a variety of plans that their members can choose from. Personally, I chose the Seasonal subscription where I get billed $50/box. I get 4 customizations per box and up to 8 products. The Annual subscription, on the other hand, allows for one’s entire box to be customized with up to 8 products, but one is billed on an annual basis at $180 which is $45/box. With both plans, one must pay for their Add-on’s separately and at each seasonal billing period.

What brands does FabFitFun offer?

Y’all are going to probably get a major feel for who I am as a person when I say this, BUT I purchased my first-ever FabFitFun box last Winter 2020 when they featured a Lilly Pulitzer mug set. LOL – yes, I purchased a whole entire FabFitFun box just for the Lilly Pulitzer mugs! Luckily, I ended up loving the FabFitFun box anyways. As for the brands that FabFitFun offers, I have listed some of the many brands that I have seen FabFitFun carry products in, either as add-on’s or a customization option within their boxes below:

  • Lilly Pulitzer
  • Rae Dunn
  • Kate Spade Home
  • Summer & Rose
  • Nanette Lepore
  • BCBG
  • Alice + Olivia
  • Frye
  • Draper James
  • Quip
  • & MANY MORE!

I will say that, brand-wise, there is most definitely something for everybody!

Why do I LOVE FabFitFun?!

As an affordable and budget-conscious shopper, FabFitFun allows me to try out and purchase products from those name brands that I LOVE at a fraction of the price. Essentially, guilt-free shopping! Well, maybe not fully guilt-free shopping, but essentially Black Friday FOUR TIMES A YEAR!!!! I love that I can pay $50/box and get 8 items that are full-sized and at a fraction of the price. Not to mention, I am obsessed with the artwork on each FabFitFun box! It is super fun to be able to receive the box each time and see all the fun artwork on it – they are oh so photogenic (that may be the influencer in me talking, though!). Moreover, FabFitFun allows one to buy and try some super fun products related to each season that it is in at a fraction of the price. Most definitely worth it all!

Now, onto to BIG question of this post – is FabFitFun worth it to YOU?! Only YOU can say! However, If the answer is YES (which I hope it is), then check out the plans here.
