About The Florence Duomo Climb

The Florence Duomo climb is located at the Florence Duomo via climbing the cathedral’s dome. Truly, the dome is a masterpiece – a symbol of Renaissance culture, the city of Florence, and of all Western humanism. The dome was constructed between 1420-1436 and was planned by Filippo Brunelleschi, who was able to create it without reinforcements in wood as no one else could construct a cupola of its size (an external diameter of 55 meters and internal diameter of 45.5 meters). To this day, it remains the largest masonry vault in the world.

The dome has an octagonal structure consisting of stone and brick masonry and actually consists of two domes: one internal and one external each of which is composed of eight “sails”. These two sails support the overall construction of the dome and host a 463-step stairway that visitors can climb up and down when visiting.

History of Florence Duomo

Formerly known as Santa Maria del Fiore, the Florence Duomo is one of the world’s largest churches and was built during the heart of the Italian Renaissance, which the city of Florence played a big role in. Florence Duomo’s first stone was laid on September 8, 1296 and its construction was tasked to Arnolfo di Cambio but was smaller-than-constructed. In the mid-14th century, the Duomo’s expansion was developed by Francesco Talenti and its completion was consecrated by Pope Eugenio IV on March 25, 1436.

Today, Florence Duomo remains one of the most magnificent Renaissance structures in the world! Its interiors are set out by immense pillars and Gothic arches alongside inlaid marble mosaic floor decorations by the grand ducal workshops of the 16th-17th centuries. Developed by Florentine artists of the Italian Renaissance, its interiors are also illuminated by 44 stained glass windows. There are several points of interest within Florence Duomo’s grounds and sights to see, alongside the Duomo climb, including:

  • Cathedral
  • Dome
  • Giotto’s Bell Tower
  • Opera Del Duomo Museum
  • Ancient Basicilia of Santa Reparata
  • Duomo Terraces

See more information on Florence Duomo here.

Getting There

To get to the Florence Duomo, there are a variety of options, including:

  • Walking – A straight-shot 10-15 minute walk from Santa Maria Novella (SMN) Station via Via dei Cerretani.
  • Bus – City bus lines C1, C2, C3, 6A, 6B, 11, 14, 23, and 23N stop right around the Duomo vicinity.
  • Tram – Line T2 connects Florence Airport (FLR) to the main station area, from which you finish the trip on foot.
  • Car/Taxi – It is worth noting that Florence Duomo is located in a historical center with limited car/taxi access. It is best advised to walk or order a taxi pickup/drop-off a couple of blocks within walking distance or at the Santa Maria Novella (SMN) Train Station via Via dei Cerretani.

Tickets to The Florence Duomo Climb

It is highly advised via the Florence Duomo’s website to only book tickets via their official website. It is also worth noting that online resale by non-authorized third parties is strictly banned, and it’s encouraged that all visitors book through the website’s official channels.

Book your tickets to the Florence Duomo Climb here.

Know Before You Go

Before you embark on your Florence Duomo climb experience, here are a few things you should know before you go:

  • The walls are narrow throughout most of the 463 steps both up and down the Florence Duomo.
  • There are no elevators within the 463-step experience of climbing up and down the Florence Duomo. Be sure that you are able to handle the experience before going.
  • Within the 463 steps, there are railings on some points of the journey and some points of the journey, there are not. Personally, when there wasn’t a railing, I held my hands onto the narrow walls, which helped me maintain my balance.
  • There are a few points throughout the climbing experience (both up and down) for folks to stop and take a breather. Two of these breaks give visitors an opportunity to admire the masterpiece that is the paintings on the dome’s interiors.
  • Upon entering the Florence Duomo climb experience, guests will have to go through a bag security checkpoint. Please refer to the FAQ page for more information on bags allowed and luggage storage options onsite.
  • The Florence Duomo climb is a timed experience – be sure to arrive 10-15 minutes at least 10-15 minutes before you timed the entry slot. Each timed entry experience is meticulously scheduled via its group, as groups will have X amount of time to climb up, enjoy the terrace, and then climb down. Above all else, just follow the crowds!
  • Slow and steady wins the race in terms of timing to climb up and down the Duomo, especially for those who don’t do as much uphill climbing.
  • Wear comfortable, suitable shoes for uphill climbing on marble staircases. In fact, I have a guide on comfortable + stylish flats for travel if you need any inspiration!

For any more questions and concerns you may have, look no further than the FAQ page.

My Experience

As someone who rarely walks uphill and in fact detests walking uphill, I found the Florence Duomo climb experience to be one of the utmost rewarding experiences of my life! I ended up getting in line early and went through security with my large Le Pilage Longchamp tote bag (in photos for sizing) and didn’t have any issues. Then, we climbed up to the terrace, admiring the dome’s masterpieces along the way.

The most rewarding part was … the incredible scenic views of Florence from above! My group and I had about 15-25 minutes at the top of the Florence Duomo to take photos and simply take it all in before the next group. Truly, it was SO rewarding and I’d do it again! In fact, I plan to climb more cathedrals, towers, etc. in the future thanks to my experience climbing the Florence Duomo!!

Wrap-Up

Thinking about climbing the Florence Duomo?!?! Hopefully, my own personal experience as an avid hater of uphill climbing and intense hiking will inspire you otherwise!

Know Before You Go

Your One Week in Rome, Italy Itinerary

Know Before You Go

Before visiting the Eternal City, I highly recommend keeping the following in mind before you go:

  • The common currency in Rome is the Euro. Credit cards are widely accepted, but be sure to double-check that your card doesn’t have a transaction fee when paying in a different currency.
  • If you do opt to withdraw cash from an ATM, for your utmost safety and to avoid scams, only use ATMs at a bank.
  • I suggest reserving Ubers before departing for Rome, as the taxi line can be long at the airport upon landing. Uber Black is the primary option for rideshare within Rome, which I primarily used throughout my trip. Uber Black is pricey, which is why I booked a few days-pass on the on and off Big Bus Tour to take me throughout all of the city’s major sites.
  • Compare fares both on key sites of interest websites as well as third-party sites like GetYourGuide – sometimes it’s cheaper on the key sight’s website as opposed to GetYourGuide. The benefits of GetYourGuide is that all of your tickets will be in one key place.
  • For tips and tricks on packing for one week in Rome, I recommend checking out this resource on what to pack.
  • Sites such as The Colosseum require that you have your passport upon entry. The Vatican does not, though. Be sure to double-check before visiting each museum and sight that you intend to see beforehand online.
  • And, most importantly, HAVE FUN!

Your One Week in Rome, Italy Itinerary

While I am simply sharing my *very own* itinerary for one week in Rome, Italy, there are several incredible sights to see throughout the Eternal City. It is going to be tough to see all that you want to see, which is why I recommend picking the top things you want to see when in Rome. GetYourGuide is an excellent place to get a feel for all that Rome, Italy has to offer as well as this guide on things to do

Day 1 – Travel Day:

  • Fly out of the United States en route to Rome, Italy’s FCO Airport

Day 2 – Arrival Day:

  • Land at Rome’s FCO Airport
  • Check-in to your hotel
  • Get acclimated with Rome via walking around nearby and perhaps go see the Trevi Fountain and grab some gelato
  • Take a nap
  • Grab dinner

Day 3 – Sightseeing:

Day 4 – Sightseeing:

  • Visit the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore
  • Explore + vintage shopping and thrifting in the Monti neighborhood + grab an afternoon glass of wine
  • Grab a sandwich for lunch at a sandwich shop nearby
  • Visit the Galleria Borghese and stroll the gardens with a spritz within the adjacent Villa Borghese
  • Catch scenic views of Rome’s skyline from the Villa Borghese and walk towards the Spanish Steps
  • Go luxury shopping/browsing on Via Condotti and the surrounding streets near the Spanish Steps and then grab dinner

Day 5 – Rest + Sightseeing:

  • Grab a seat on an on and off Big Bus Tour and take in the Eternal City without having to walk a ton
  • Enjoy a long lunch as the Romans do followed by some wine and gelato
  • Go on an illuminated city lights Big Bus Tour (which is included in some ticket fare packages!)
  • Get dinner + gelato before hitting the hay

Day 6 – Sightseeing:

  • Start your day with an espresso and head off to the Colonna Palace and gardens (open only on Saturday’s), which is truly a hidden gem
  • Get lost in the streets and shop nearby and savor a long lunch hour
  • Hitch a ride on the Big Bus Tour to the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill and immerse yourself within it all and the scenic, historic sites of the ancient Roman Empire
  • Grab dinner, pack a bit for your upcoming travel day home, and hit the hay

Day 7 – Morning Sightseeing + Travel Day:

  • Get breakfast and head on over to your final museum visit – I opted to visit Castel Sant’Angelo where on Sunday mornings you can watch the procession of services at The Vatican + take in breathtaking skyline views
  • Grab your luggage and check out of your hotel
  • Head to Rome FCO Airport 3 hours before take off and board your late afternoon flight back home

Safe travels!!

How I Plan What I Wear

My Europe Packing List

How I Plan What I Wear

Although I won’t get into too much detail on clothing, as I am extremely extra when it comes to outfit planning and packing clothing for any and all of my European adventures, I will share a few snippets of how I pack:

  • I map out all of my outfits alongside my itinerary on the Notes app/Google Doc on my iPhone. Based on what I am doing each day, I will pack a unique outfit accordingly and list it within my itinerary.
  • Usually, I leave wiggle room for 1-2 extra outfits per trip, as I tend to do a spontaneous dinner outing on each trip (and whoops – forget to pack an outfit).’
  • I rarely follow my outfits structure and leave room for flexibility, but having an exact amount of outfits per occasion to pack helps. It also helps me to have 1-2 precise outfits packed for 1-2 specific outings on each Europe trip. However, no trip goes 100% to plan whether domestically or abroad and neither does what I plan to wear.
  • While packing, I always look at the weather in each destination I am going to, as well as the typical weather for that destination during that time of the year, and plan out my outfits accordingly.

If you’re a preppy fashion enthusiast like myself, then be sure to take a look at my preppy clothing and preppy outfits style guides.

My Europe Packing List (Besides Clothing)

It is worth noting that this Europe Packing List will include essentials I find a must for when flying on a Transatlantic flight, as well as items that are extremely helpful to have throughout your visit, whether it be sightseeing, day trips, and nights in a hotel/AirBnB.

EU/UK Adaptable Outlets – One of the biggest things to keep in mind when traveling to Europe is that they don’t have the same plugs that we have in the United States. Hence, you will need an adaptable outlet when traveling to countries within the European Union as well as the United Kingdom. It is worth noting that the United Kingdom’s plugs differ from that of the European Union and, hence, you will need a unique adaptable outlet for the European Union as well as for the United Kingdom.

Air Tags – After losing my luggage on the way home from the French Riviera, I found that having Air Tags to track my luggage is a non-negotiable for peace of mind. Upon losing your luggage, most airlines will allow you to add in your luggage’s Air Tags tracking information, which will help bring your bag back to its rightful owner. Definitely one of the best investments I’ve made!

Luggage Locks – Especially when traveling to big tourist cities such as Paris and Rome but pretty much anywhere these days, having a lock on your luggage will help keep your belongings safe and give you peace of mind throughout your adventure. These locks come in a pack of 2+ and are essential to any Europe packing list.

Travel-Sized Toiletries + Makeup – While I travel abroad often, one of the biggest things that can take up LOTS of weight within my luggage (just like us all) is toiletries. Yeah, you’ll want to leave that HUGE bottle of shampoo and body wash at home a consolidate. If you opt to not use toiletries within your hotel or buy upon arrival, Amazon typically has an excellent selection of travel-sized toiletries as well as Target, Walmart, and Dollar Tree within their stores.

First Aid Essentials – I highly recommend having a few first aid essentials that you may need on-hand when traveling. Whether it be a pack of tissues, band-aids for blisters, feminine products, wet wipes, or medications (more on that to come!). You’ll be really glad you snagged a few things to put in your luggage especially for those moments that you may need something and really regret it. Better safe than sorry!

Hanging Toiletry Bag – It is always best to have a designated bag for your toiletries, especially a hanging Toiletry Bag. I personally love this option that’s waterproof and has been my go-to throughout my European travels over the last few years. I also suggest having a makeup bag on-hand, too!

Electrolytes – Travel is EXHAUSTING, especially when embarking on an 8+ hour Transatlantic flight each way as well as days filled with tons of sightseeing and walking more than usual. Electrolyte drink packets such as LiquidIV are extremely necessary for your adventure – both in the air and on land. I use these reusable snack packs to pack my electrolyte drink packets!

Packing Squares – Over the years, I have discovered the beauty of packing squares! Not only to help me organize what I am bringing, but also to help me be able to maximize my already limited luggage space (especially as a chronic over-packer – whoops!!!!). These packing squares will help you stylishly pack for your European getaway (and beyond!).

Luggage Tags – When I came home from Ireland, a woman approached me almost taking my luggage out of my hand as we had identical checked suitcases. Luckily, my luggage tag from the airline had my information on it (including my name), which helped resolve the matter pretty smoothly. However, this confusion would not have occurred if I had a distinct luggage tag with my information on it to help reduce that confusion for everyone. These monogrammed luggage tags are adorable and come in several initials and colors. There are also solid luggage tags options, too, including this one and this one

Soft Pajamas – There is nothing more luxurious than putting on an extra soft pair of pajamas in Europe – say NO MORE!!! I have adored trying so many pajama brands over the years – my favorites on a budget include Joyspun (which I review here), Laura Ashley via TJ Maxx, and this brand on Amazon. If you’re looking for a splurge, then my favorites include Printfresh (which I review and track their sales here), LAKE, and Lilly Pulitzer. I also map out more pajama brands to choose from in this guide.

Energy Drink Packs – If you’re an energy drink fan, then I definitely suggest adding some energy drink packs to your Europe packing list. For all of my Bloom energy drink fans, Bloom has a wonderful energy drink packet option – perfect for travel! I use these reusable snack packs to pack my energy drink packs.

Clear Pouches – Many European countries and Canada require you to separate your liquids upon going through airport security. I find having a reusable clear pouch which is more durable than a clear Ziploc bag as an excellent option for separating your liquids. I find these clear pouches to 10000% do the trick well! Clear pouches also work well to organize your cords and chargers, including this clear pouch set.

Fun Pouches – Travel is ALWAYS made more fun when you have a fun pouch in tow! Fun pouches are truly a MUST for every Europe packing list. Regularly, I update my list of my favorite fun pouches on Amazon – which are mostly next-day delivery ready, too.

Compression Socks – Compression socks will become your best friend, especially on the long haul flights to Europe! Compression socks will help reduce swelling and are truly essential to any Europe packing list. These are my favorite compression socks that can be worn with sneakers or slip-on’s throughout any trip.

Extra Cords – You never know when a cord will stop working, and it would be worse to be in another country when this occurs. While you can definitely buy extra cords in many European cities, it’s always better to be safer than sorry.

Chargeable Mobile Fan – Especially if you are traveling to Europe in the Summer time, you will want to have a chargeable mobile fan (or two!) to help you stay cool. This chargeable mobile fan that comes in many different colors has been a godsend to me on many European Summer adventures!

Two-Piece Lounge Set – There is truly nothing better than an adorable and affordable two-piece lounge set that’s comfortable, especially for long travel days. Personally, I’m all for comfort in a stylish way when traveling far and wide – which two-piece lounge sets provide us all with! I outline some adorable and affordable two-piece lounge sets in this shopping guide of mine.

Insulated Tumblers/Water Bottles – One of the most important things to keep in mind when traveling is to stay hydrated! Having an insulated tumbler/water bottle on-hand will help you do just that. You can easily fill a water bottle up at the airport gate once you go through security and you can use them for other beverages, too. I love keeping a Stanley, Hydrapeak, or bright tumbler on-hand for every European adventure of mine.

Comfortable Shoes – When in Rome (or anywhere in Europe for that matter!), you will likely be walking several steps each day. So, comfortable shoes are a must! In this guide, I outline some stylish + comfortable flats that are perfect for traveling in style and essential for any Europe packing list.

Medicine – I always air on the side of caution, especially when I will be far away from home. Having extra medications (e.g. Tums, Midol, NyQuil/DayQuil, Advil) on-hand is a must when traveling abroad alongside any daily medications that I take when at home. While there are pharmacies around in Europe, it’s always best to have on hand what you and your body are familiar with.

An Extra Duffel – As a chronic overpacker who LOVES getting all of the souvenirs while away from home, an extra duffel is definitely a necessity to add to my suitcase. Not only does it save an extra hassle of feeling that I have to buy another luggage for everything I purchased while in Europe, but it also gives me peace of mind that all of my purchases and luggage will make it across the Atlantic safely. Any extra duffel will do, but I love a good Vera Bradley duffel bag or these timeless canvas duffels from Lands’ End

Neck Pillow – Personally, I didn’t travel with a neck pillow until the last 6 months, and it made a HUGE difference on longer haul flights. Never will I not travel with a neck pillow on 2+ hour flights these days! This neck pillow will definitely do the trick, too.

Eye Mask – To get some extra sleep (or even attempt to sleep!) on an overnight flight, an eye mask will for sure help you to do just that. There’s also something so luxurious about a satin/silk eye mask – perfectly fit for any travel day!

Durable Crossbody/Tote Bag – A durable bag (or two!) are essential when traveling to Europe. Personally, as someone who carries around a digital camera, I love having a Longchamp Le Pilage tote and have carried them on pretty much every Europe trip of mine over the years. I also find a durable crossbody bag to be a nice addition to my Europe packing list (and bag collection away from home!), such as the mini Longchamp crossbody or this leather customizable crossbody

Camera including SD Card Reader & Camera Charger – If you’re like me and you LOVE to take pictures of all of your European adventures, then a camera is a MUST for you! If you do opt to bring your camera, then an SD card reader which syncs with your phone and a camera charger are essential. That way, you can update loved ones back at home about your adventures on the daily!

Passport CoverPassport covers are a unique and secure way to store your passport but also make travel *just* a bit more personalized. Amazon has many affordable, adorable, and fun passport cover options for you to choose from, alongside several popular designer brands like Kate Spade.

Tech Sleeve – If you’re bringing any laptops, iPads, Kindles, etc. to Europe, then a tech sleeve is the perfect way to keep your devices safe throughout your journey. Amazon has so many adorable and affordable options to choose from, as well as this adorable two-piece tech pouch

Wrap-Up

Now, you’re ready for the ultimate European adventure! Happy + safe travels!!

What Is Preppy Style?!

Preppy Style is a classic, all-American aesthetic that is rooted in the collegiate traditions of the East Coast Ivy League colleges and prep schools of the 20th century. Preppy Style blends refined classic sophistication with youthful, sporty elements, incorporating structured silhouettes, bright + pastel colors, textured fabrics such as Tweed and cable-knit, and wardrobe staples like loafers, oxford shirts, and blazers.

All-things preppy style saw a resurgence in the 1980’s thanks to satirical The Official Preppy Handbook – published by Lisa Birnbach. In the late 2000’s, preppy style got a modern-day spin – headbands and pleated Mini skirts and all – thanks to shows like Gossip Girl. Today, preppy style remains popular worldwide from both trendsetters and lifelong preppy style lovers, alike.

Preppy Fashion Inspiration: From The Screen To The Streets

Preppy fashion has taken the stage from gracing our screens to inspiring us in our everyday life on the streets (and social media!). As a proud preppy fashion enthusiast, these are some of the most iconic preppy fashion moments in popular culture (in my opinion!):

  • Blair Waldorf in Gossip Girl – the headbands, Upper East Side elegance, and private school preppy style with lunch on The Met steps clad in blazers and pleated skirts, OH MY!
  • The Kentucky Derby – clad in iconic fascinators, all-things seersucker, pastels, bows, and more with a Mint Julep in-hand at Churchill Downs in Louisville, the Kentucky Derby’s fashion is truly a preppy fashion galore!
  • The Pink Retreat – Lilly Pulitzer lover’s annual Palm Beach Retreat aka a conference and retreat for everyone who LOVES the bubbly and sunshine-inspired preppy fashion brand to come together and share their love of Lilly Pulitzer.
  • Everyday Life – Everyday, whether I am running errands, going out to brunch or dinner, or traveling, I always run into a fellow preppy fashion enthusiast and feel nothing short of inspired! Truly, I find the everyday preppy fashion lovers to be my favorite source of inspiration for styling Preppy clothes!!

Preppy Wardrobe Essentials + Key Staples

Whether it be a blazer, Oxford button down, trench coat, pair of pearl earrings, cable-knit sweater, or a timeless pair of flats, there are several preppy wardrobe essentials that every enthusiast probably has (or should have!). Indeed, I outline preppy wardrobe essentials and provide some outfit inspiration in my Styling Preppy Outfits Guide

Preppy Style Variations

Preppy style isn’t a one-size fits all style! Here are a few of the widely-known preppy style variations to keep in mind and draw inspiration from:

  • Preppy Core – Preppy Core takes the essential elements of preppy style and amplifies them for a more intentional, curated preppy vibe. Preppy Core places an emphasis on creating cohesive, highly styled looks that are unmistakably preppy.
  • Soft Preppy – Soft preppy embraces feminine, romantic elements within the preppy framework. This vibe features pastel colors, delicate fabrics, eyelet details, and flowing silhouettes. It’s perfect for those who want a gentler, more whimsical take on the traditional, Ivy League preppy aesthetic.
  • Old Money Aesthetic – The Old Money Aesthetic represents understated luxury and timeless elegance with a focus on high-quality fabrics, impeccable tailoring, neutral color palettes, and minimal branding. It’s all about looking effortlessly expensive without being flashy.
  • Y2K Preppy – Y2K Preppy draws inspiration from early 2000’s fashion icons from popular movies and shows like Clueless and Gossip Girl. Y2K Preppy incorporates nostalgic elements like mini skirts, crop tops, bold pink tones, and playful accessories. This style appeals to those who love the youthful and fun energy of 2000’s fashion.
  • Modern Preppy (or “new preppy”) – Modern preppy takes traditional elements and updates them with the current time’s contemporary trends, bolder colors, and more relaxed silhouettes. This style embraces the fashion of the current time while maintaining preppy’s polished aesthetic.
  • Classic Preppy (also known as “OG preppy” or “old preppy”) – Classic preppy remains true to its traditional Ivy League roots with conservative cuts, traditional patterns like argyle and plaid, and a refined color palette of navy, white, khaki, and burgundy. Think timeless pieces that could have been worn decades ago and still look current today.

While there are plenty of preppy style variations widely-known amongst fellow preppy fashion lovers, most importantly, it is key to dress in a way that is true to you. Make your preppy style yours and only yours.

Preppy Clothes Fit For Every Occasion

We all have a ton of events on our calendars throughout the year and there are some preppy clothes fit for every occasion. One of the best things about preppy clothes is that they are versatile and, when styled appropriately, can be worn for multiple occasions. That all being said, here are a few occasions and style inspiration:

  • Business Casual Work Days – Shift dresses in solid colors or business casual-appropriate patterns including Tweed, plaid, or when styled appropriately Lilly Pulitzer shifts and paired with a cardigan/Tailored blazer of pair of ballet flats. Other options include a blouse/cashmere sweater and pants as well as a midi skirt with a tucked-in blouse. Ah, the options are endless when styled appropriately to your workplace’s dress code.
  • Lazy Days – Love me a two-piece lounge set like some of these on Amazon as well as a skort or jeans and a tee/Crewneck Sweatshirt. But, nothing beats a nice pair of pajamas for lounging around the house or for simple errands!
  • Holiday Events – Tartan IS your best friend throughout the holiday season, as well as all-things shimmer and sparkle and glitter in blouses, skirts, dresses, and more!
  • Preppy Dinner Outfit – Style an elegant shift dress, midi dress, or Maxi Dress with a pair of heels and accent jewelry and add a fun clutch or novelty bags for an extra fun flair!
  • Valentine’s Day & Galentine’s Events – Whether for date night or for a night with the Galentine’s, opt for all-things red and pink and anything with hearts on it for all-things Valentine’s.
  • Easter – Opt for a pastel-colored dress with pops of bright colors such as yellow or pink, perhaps with a scalloped hemline or ric-rac on the hemline. Pair with your favorite cardigan.
  • Church – Nothing beats pairing one of your favorite dresses or skirts/blouses with *none other than* a tailored blazer or cardigan!

& the list could go on and on and on! There are indeed several events that we all have on our calendars – many of which we can use what we have in our closets multiple times!

Preppy Accessories

There are several fun preppy accessories to choose from, whether it be a timeless leather tote or crossbody bag, anything monogrammed, a headband, a ball cap, or a canvas boat tote – my favorite being from either LL Bean or Lands’ End.

Preppy Bags

Preppy Scarves

I’ve Tried 20+ Pajama Brands: These Are My Top 5 Picks!

For more information on popular preppy fashion brands, many of which sell adorable pajama sets, then be sure to check out my list of preppy brands that I LOVE. If you’re looking for how to dress preppy, then look no further than my guide to styling preppy outfits.

1 – LAKE

If there is a brand of pajamas I reach for the most, it is LAKE! While LAKE Pajamas are at a hefty price point of $100+ regularly for a two-piece set, they are definitely worth the cost given their quality, durability, and ultra soft fabric that have literally on multiple occasions kept me in them ALL DAY LONG. Yes, I have worn my LAKE pajamas all day long, especially during snow blizzards with nowhere to go! Personally, I always look forward to LAKE’s semi-annual sales when I treat myself to a brand-new set of pajamas at 40-50% off. If you need a sign to buy a pair of LAKE Pajamas, then let this be your sign!

Shop LAKE here.

2 – Joyspun

If you are curious at a more affordable alternative to LAKE Pajamas, then I highly recommend Joyspun – a Walmart-exclusive pajama brand. Literally, Joyspun’s pajamas are the closest alternative to LAKE’s pajamas and their sets typically retail for under $20. It is worth noting that Joyspun’s pajamas do go fast when on Walmart’s website due to their utter popularity. SO, I recommend moving fast if you find a pair of pajamas from Joyspun online or going in-store to visit your local Walmart that may have exclusive additional markdowns not seen online. For more information on Joyspun pajamas, then feel free to check out my review on them here.

Shop Joyspun here.

3 – Printfresh

Coming in ultra-fun prints and made with the utmost quality, Printfresh pajamas are pricey, but are 10000% worth the cost! Unlike other pajamas made with similar materials, Printfresh’s pajamas are made with 100% organic cotton poplin and are definitely made the best compared to other pajama brands. I personally love their fun, creative prints including collaborations with Lenox Spice Village, book author Emily Henry, and Downtown Abbey, and like with LAKE, I always look forward to occasionally treating myself to a brand-new pair of Printfresh pajamas during their sales. For more information on when Printfresh pajamas go on sale and an in-depth review on them, then check out my sale predictor + review here.

Shop Printfresh here.

4 – J Crew

J Crew’s pajamas are personally some of my favorite! I find their cotton blend pajama set to be my go-to pair especially when I got stuck with COVID and was on bed rest for almost a month in 2024 as well as their flannel pajama pants with a cotton tee during the Winter months – both of those you cannot go wrong with! Even years later, my J Crew pajamas are still maintaining the utmost high-quality and hence remain one of my favorite pajama brands.

Shop J Crew here and J Crew’s outlet, J Crew Factory, here.

5 – Mary Square

With their ultra butter-soft pajamas in vibrant prints and colors, Mary Square pajamas are the ultimate dream! I personally love their fun prints and colors and sets that make going to bed just a bit brighter. Another great aspect of Mary Square’s pajamas is that with discounts and semi-regular sales on their website, they definitely aren’t as expensive as other pajama brands listed (though not as affordable as Joyspun) and are a great mid-range option, which I outline in my pajamas review here. The best part?!?! I have an exclusive discount code for my readers who are interested in shopping at Mary Square!

Shop at Mary Square with 15% Off Your Entire Order at Mary Square with code THEPINKCHICKADEE
