Mixing Prints in a Patriotic Fashion

Today, a lady approached me at the AT&T store and was so excited at the way I mixed my Lilly Pulitzer “It’s All a Dream” Ophelia shift with my custom-designed Etsy monogrammed tote in the Peel n’ Eat print about how I mixed the prints in a stylish fashion. Little did I know when I simply grabbed my tote and wore a super cute dress that I would be stylish mixing prints – I did it without even thinking! However, last weekend, I traveled all the way to Bethany Beach, Delaware and, on a day trip to the nearby town of Lewes, Delaware, I intentionally mixed some prints for a Memorial Day look.

Today’s Katie’s Confetti Style is ALL about how I styled that look. The best part?! Each piece in this look I have owned for 2+ years or was gifted secondhand!

  • Top: J Crew Factory (purchased in Summer 2017 and it’s actually a pool cover-up!)
  • Necklace: Kendra Scott (gifted!)
  • Skirt: American Eagle (given to me from my friend Kaylee in a clothing swap)
  • Clutch: Kate Spade (got it at my local outlet and it’s actually a wallet!)
  • Sandals: Kate Spade (got them at a Marshall’s in Spring 2017 while on vacation)

Little did I know, shopping my own closet can provide me with a super stylish look while also providing a story to each and every piece in it. Summer 2021 brings about some exciting and patriotic holidays – Memorial Day, Fourth of July, and Labor Day – without as much worry about COVID-19. In order to save some money for some exciting plans I have coming up over the next two patriotic summer holidays, I am glad I could find something cute to wear straight from my closet!

Kate Spade Pieces Worth the Investment

Kate Spade has always been my favorite fashion designer, well, besides Lilly Pulitzer *of course!!!*. Over the years, I have had much experience with purchasing Kate Spade items and can happily tell you that many of them are well worth the investment. Pretty much every Kate Spade piece that I own I have owned for several years now. So, today, I will be sharing some of my favorite Kate Spade pieces that are well worth the investment.

Handbags

Kate Spade has several handbags that are well worth their occasionally hefty price tags. I own at least 5-10 handbags from Kate Spade of all different shapes, sizes, colors, and styles. You most definitely cannot go wrong with any Kate Spade handbag. Below, I have listed just a few of my favorite handbag styles.

Shoes

Just like handbags, Kate Spade shoes are also a super fun, classic, and adorable piece to add to your own wardrobe. I own a pair of their sandals, flats, and loafers. Each are super great staples, too! Below, I have linked a pair of flats that has consistently been on my Kate Spade wishlist!

Wallets

You can NOT go wrong with a Kate Spade wallet! I have owned both their wallets and their wristlets over the years and both have been amazing pieces to own. I will say though, with the wristlet, they do wear out a lot faster than the wallets and are prone to having their handles break, so be aware of that. Otherwise, you will love them. Jewelry

Although I do not own anything but a few pairs of earrings and bracelets from Kate Spade, I am a major fan of them! The brand’s Surprise Sale site offers a variety of earrings with a ton being priced at under $25. I have purchased a few pairs in the past from this site and have surely not been disappointed. #KatiesConfettiStyle September 28-October 2

Hey y’all! It’s officially Week 2 of showing off how I style different pieces for my brand-new weekly style series Katie’s Confetti Style. Today, I am sharing a round up of my looks from this past week. Please note that this week will be a smaller number of outfits, as I have had midterms. However, I did plan some super fun looks that I hope y’all enjoy!!!

Tuesday: A White Dress for Fall!

Whoever said that white dresses were made just for the warmer months clearly never knew how fun wearing a white dress in the Fall is! This white dress from SheIn that I got over the summer is such a fun piece. I did a shoot with it last summer, and it’s such a great staple!!! In order to style it for Fall, I added my chambray button down as a jacket, my Madison Boutique top knot hairband, and Kate Spade leopard print flats. Let’s just say that it is one of my favorite outfits of the season!!!

Thursday: Lilly Pulitzer’s Mila Shift for Fall!

I LOVE my Mila shifts!!! The fact that I can only wear my Mila shifts in the warmer months is clearly a fashion rule that I do not want to follow. So, I made my own fashion statement by styling my Mila shift from The Pink Crab in Zanzibar Ruff Night with my navy Vineyard Vines Shep Shirt (pullover). My Vineyard Vines Shep Shirt most definitely topped off the cake of my Fall Lilly look!!!

Friday: Mad for Plaid!

I don’t know about you, but I feeling ALL of the Friday feels!!! Plaid is most definitely one of my favorite Fall and Winter weather prints, so I had to pull out my plaid cape that I got while in Scotland. Consequently, I paired it with my white Talbots top that I purchased at a thrift store and have had for YEARS as well as my blue Murano glass heart necklace that I got while in Murano, Italy on a day trip from Venice, Italy. To top it off, I added my Jack Rogers blush tan suede boots and my black leggings from Kohl’s. Definitely a Friday look for the win!!!
