Preppy outfits to reflect May 2026 were truly super fun to style and dress for, as it was month filled with Birthday celebrations to ring in year 27, a long weekend with some of my closest friends, and several collaborations and work-related events as a full-time blogger. Anthropologie Somerset Maxi Dress Dupes

Know Before You Buy

Before I start sharing some adorable Anthropologie Somerset Maxi Dress Dupes (some of which are on Amazon and Belk), I am going to share a few things to note before you buy:

  • Prices on many clothing items (like everything else on Amazon) do fluctuate. It is worthwhile to monitor prices on Amazon, enjoy coupons when given the opportunity to. The same goes for merchandise at Belk!
  • Garments do come and go in and out of stock, like a lot of inventory on Amazon (or anywhere else including Belk). Be sure to keep an eye on garments of interest upon buying.
  • Most garments within the Item Description section will have information on material and sizing. I highly recommend looking at that before making a purchase so there are no surprises.
  • Be sure to read product reviews, if you feel nervous before making a purchase. Many product reviews may be bots or spam, so be sure to look for real product images and filter out ratings to get the full scope of what you’re looking to buy before you buy.

Nice, France Guide

***Please note that this Nice, France Guide will be updated and recirculated periodically to reflect the most up-to-date information. This travel guide was most recently updated as of May 2026.***

In March 2026, I decided a few weeks before my trip to France that I would go to Nice. Little did I know, I would fall in love with this incredible city in the South of France and the many towns that surround it! This Nice, France guide will walk you through the city’s history, what to know before you go, where to stay, where to eat, what to do, and more as you plan for your French Riviera adventure.

Location

A city in the South of France about 930km from Paris, Nice is located on the Cote d’Azur aka the French Rivera in its Alps-Maritimes department near the border of Italy alongside the Mediterranean Sea. Nice acts as a central hub to nearby glamorous cities such as Cannes (where, yes, the Cannes Film Festival takes place!), Saint-Tropez (a luxurious yachting hub), and Monte Carlo, Monaco (which is one of the wealthiest countries in the world and a popular casino spot) – all of which are within an easy day trips’ reach. Given its geographic location and unique history (more on that in the next section!), Nice boasts English, Italian, and French influence and has an international presence within its population. Proudly, the people of Nice, France call Nice, France, the 5th most populous city in France, their home regardless of who they are, which is something I saw while visiting this gorgeous city.

If traveling to Nice, France, the nearest airport is the Nice Cote D’Azur airport, which serves as a hub for the entire French Rivera and is an easy 10-15 minute drive/Uber ride from downtown as well as nearby spots. There are multiple seasonal direct flights to/from Nice Cote D’Azur airport during the Summer months on airlines such as United (such as my home base of Washington, DC) and several connecting flights from major European cities.

History

While Nice didn’t become a part of France until 1860 when it was handed over by the Treaty of Turin a year before the country of Italy was created and united into one, it has great pride in its French heritage and unique history before being a part of France to this very day. Nice’s earliest days of civilization date back to 400,000+ years ago, but as far as we know it was first established by the Phocaean Greeks as a trading post and then by the Roman Empire. For much of the Middle Ages, Nice was caught between competing powers, including those in Provence, Sardinia, and other Italian regions. During the 1700’s up until French annexation in 1860, Nice struggled to maintain its identity, as it was frequently captured by French and regional present-day Italian powers including a visit and and influences from Napoleon Bonaparte. During World War 2, Nice was a refuge for displaced foreigners, specifically Jews, and was liberated on August 30, 1944 when American troops entered the city. Today, Nice retains its pride in being a part of France, but also maintains Italian and specifically Sardinian influences given its history that makes Nice, Nice.

Dating back to the 1750s, Nice became a popular spot for wealthy English families to escape from the cold and enjoy the sunshine and coastlines. A fun fact is that during this era, doctors would prescribe English aristocrats with time in the South of France, due to the seasonal depression that came with frigid English winters. The popular Promenade des Anglais (‘the Walkway of the English’) alongside the coastline owes its name to Nice’s earliest visitors. Since its first English visitors, tourism remains a central part of Nice’s economy as well as the rest of the Cote D’Azur.

For more information on Nice, France’s history, look no further than here.

Where To Stay in Nice, France

While there are several incredible hotels to stay at in Nice, I LOVED my stay at Pam Hotel – a California vintage-inspired hotel located nearby Old Nice and the Promenade des Anglais. Read my full review on Pam Hotel here.

Getting Around

While I mainly opted to use Uber and walk around when getting around in Nice, the city offers a vast public transit network via the Lignes D’Azur which offers easy access to other sights within the French Riviera, including Monte Carlo, Monaco. Check out this guide on public transportation in Nice, France. When it comes to Uber fares, Ubers on average will run you typically under 30 Euros each way to/from nearby towns including Monaco. The Uber app will work in France like it does in the United States and Canada. If you’re interested in visiting other nearby towns in a guided group setting, then look no further than my guide on day trips from Nice, France.

What To Do in Nice, France

Seaside strolls, cobblestone street strolls, and panoramic strolls, OH MY! When looking for what to do in Nice, France, there are seriously SOOOOO many opportunities to enjoy and take in some scenic views and stroll. And, beyond savoring a stroll (which I highly recommend doing every day when in Nice!), there are several things to do in Nice. Look no further than GetYourGuide to book some fun and unique activities in Nice and around the French Riviera.

Stroll the Promenade des Anglais – A promenade along the Mediterranean coastline extending about 7 kilometers from the Nice airport, the Promenade des Anglais, as previously mentioned, boasts several seaside views while paying tribute to its earliest visitors: the English. Be sure to stroll the Promenade des Anglais during multiple times of the day, including at 10am-12pm and especially during golden hour and sunset. If you’re an early riser, then be sure to catch the sunrise. While strolling, be sure to snap a photo in front of the iconic #ILoveNice sign!

Take a guided walking tour of Nice – One of my favorite activities that I booked while in Nice was a guided walking tour of the city, including the charming Viuex Nice aka Old Town Nice. I ended up being the only person in my tour group and had pretty much a private guided tour, which was wonderful! Truly, I enjoyed my guided walking tour of Nice, as it was an excellent way to get acclimated to the city, its history, and its many sights to see. Book your guided walking tour of Nice here.

Get some Vitamin D on the via strolling Promenade des Anglais & enjoy the views in one of the iconic blue chairs – In addition to strolling the Promenade des Anglais, one of the best and free ways to do so is to enjoy some seaside views in one of the several iconic blue chairs that lines the Promenade. These blue chairs are loved and enjoyed by visitors from all across the world and locals, alike. Read more about the story of the Promenade’s blue chairs here

Catch a scenic view at Castle Hill – A lush 95-meter-high hilltop park, Castle Hill offers panoramic city and seaside views. Castle Hill is completely free to visit and can be accessed by lift/elevator or by hiking the windy paths and staircases around town. Be sure to pack some snacks, water, and your camera. You’ll want to savor the moment (and views!). Several walking tours offer a stop at Castle Hill or are exclusively walking tours to Castle Hill. Book your walking tour of Nice including Castle Hill here and book your walking tour of Castle Hill only here

Stroll the streets and shops of Vieux Nice – Vieux Nice is the city’s Old Town, known for its enchanting narrow cobblestone streets, colorful buildings, as well as local shops, markets, cafes, and restaurants. This is indeed the perfect place to simply get lost and take in the moment, as you’ll get captivated by the cathedrals, squares, and everything in between. Many of the shops and restaurants I supported were located in this vibrant part of the city! Truly, you won’t want to leave this unique and historic city section.

Take a sightseeing cruise to Villefranche Bay – Villefranche Bay is one of the deepest harbors in all of the Mediterranean and is located between Nice and Monaco on the French Riviera. It boasts turquoise waters, cliff side views, and colorful buildings. Several sightseeing cruises dock in/out of Nice, France for about an hour at a time, offering the perfect opportunity to catch some seaside views, enjoy the sunshine, and simply take it all in. It is worth noting that many sightseeing cruises do offer refreshments on board at an additional cost via a cash-only bar. Book your sightseeing cruise to Villefranche Bay here.

Support local vendors at the Marche aux Fleurs at Cours Saleya – Located in Vieux Nice, the Marche aux Fleurs at Cours Saleya is a flower market that dates back to 1897 when growers in the hills would bring their freshly cut flowers into town to sell and is the first wholesale flower market in the world. Visitors can also grab locally made fruits, vegetables, olive oil, soaps, and other locally made goods and even souvenirs. The hours are as follows: Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 6.00-17.30, Wednesday and Saturday 6.30-18.30.  Sunday 6.30-13.30, and closed Mondays. For more information on visiting Marche aux Fleurs at Cours Saleya, then check out this excellent resource to plan your visit.

Browse & shop local vendors at the Marché à la brocante antique market at Cours Saleya (Mondays only) – Every Monday at Cours Saleya, Marche aux Fleurs transforms into the Marché à la brocante: an antique and flea market. Goods range from antiques of all kinds to vintage designer clothing, leather, and handbags. It is worth noting that vendors at this popular antique and flea market may only accept cash. For more information on visiting Marché à la brocante at Cours Saleya, then check out this excellent resource to plan your visit.

Embark on a day trip (or a few!) to nearby towns – There are several including day trips that you can take from Nice, France along the French Riviera. Whether you decide to go to nearby French towns such as to do perfume making and explore the hilltop village of Eze, to take in cobblestone streets and artwork in the seaside Town known for the Picasso Museum of Antibes, or cross international borders to visit Monte Carlo, Monaco, there are truly SOOOO many things to do and places to see without leaving the region of Provence and the French Riviera! Check out my day trips from Nice, France guide here.

My Experience

Wine Tasting + Flights

While at The Winery at Sunshine Ridge Farm, I enjoyed an incredible wine flight consisting of several of the winery’s incredible, award-winning wines. When visiting The Winery at Sunshine Ridge Farm, visitors can select 4 wines to try. I ended up ordering a glass of rose as a rose enthusiast, too! While listening to live music and taking in incredible lakeside views, there is truly no better place to savor a wine flight! Highlights of my wine flight and wines to choose from include:

  • 2022 Viognier – This Viognier fragrant with the scents of cantaloupe, vanilla cream, and dried wild flowers. Giving a full-mouth feel, this wine provides soft and creamy notes on the palate.
  • 2022 Pinot Gris –  Providing bright and crisp notes of Asian pear and clean citrus, this Pinot Gris leads to a light and tangy mid-palate with a balanced acidity.
  • 2021 Riesling – This medium-bodied, off-dry Riesling has a refreshing limestone minimality throughout it, consisting of a nose of lemon-lime, cantaloupe, and lilac.
  • 2020 Rosé  – With notes of strawberries and cream, shortbread and baked cherry pie, this balanced wine has a hint of sweetness and a clean finish.
  • 2021 Cabernet Franc – This Cabernet Franc provides aromas of sweet dried strawberry, black raspberry, and green peppercorns which leads to a taste of bramble fruit and bell pepper. this Cabernet Franc, With soft tannins and a balanced acidity, is light and easy to drink but has enough complexity to age for years and get better as time goes on.
  • 2023 Merlot  – With notes of vanilla, berry crème brûlée, caramel, cooking spices, and a touch of smoke on the nose, this Vintage Merlot has grippy tannins and the palate is bursting with fruit-forward flavors of elderberries and black currants and ending with a lingering finish.
  • 2020 Meritage – Giving off Aromas including red fruits such as cranberries, cherries, and red currant with hints of baking spices, The palate of this 2020 Mertiage presents red fruit flavors along with a hint of caramel and vanilla with grippy tannins and a lingering finish.
  • 2020 Petit Verdot  – This Petit Verdot’s Aromas include a slight hint of dried tobacco, coffee grounds, and baking spices such as clove and nutmeg with a palate presenting bold flavors of dried cherries, black currant and licorice with a hint of warm wood and pepper. Well structured tannins and medium finish.

Where To Do Perfume Making In Nice, France

***Please note that this Where To Do Perfume Making In Nice, France Guide will be updated and recirculated periodically to reflect the most up-to-date information. This travel guide was most recently updated as of May 2026.***

If you’re traveling to the South of France and like me, you may be wondering: where can I go to perfume making in Nice?!?! When I visited Nice, France for a week along with several spots on the French Riviera, I took a day trip to the nearby hilltop village of Eze, France for one particular reason: to visit the Fragonard Perfume Factory! While there are multiple Fragonard Perfume experiences to take in Grasse and Paris in addition to Eze, truly there is something for everyone no matter where in France you may be traveling to especially in and around Nice! This guide will walk you through my visit and experience at The Fragonard Perfume Factory in Eze.

Where To Do Perfume Making In Nice, France

There are several spots where you can do perfume making in and around Nice. If you’re looking for an option in the city, Molinard Parfums offers a variety of workshops, including a Discovery Perfumes Workshop and Classic Perfume Workshop. However, if you want a more affordable option close to the city with a perfume factory tour, then I would highly recommend opting to visit the medieval hilltop village of Eze and spending a couple of hours at the Fragonard Perfume Factory with a complimentary perfume. Fragonard also has a perfume factory in Grasse, France that is a half-day small group tour option from Nice.

Where To Book

From personal experience, I highly recommend using a website such as GetYourGuide to book all of your activities and excursions when traveling. That way, you can keep all of your activities, bookings, and reservations in one central location.

To book your very own make your own perfume activity in Nice, use the following links:

Click here to book the Molinard Parfums Classic Perfume Workshop

Click here to book the Fragonard Perfume Factory Tour in Eze

Click here to book the Fragonard Perfume Factory Half-Day Small Group Tour to Grasse (from Nice)

Personally, I opted for the Fragonard Perfume Factory tour and perfume making experience in nearby Eze, and I 10000% do not regret it! More on that below!!

Know Before You Go

Before taking part in your *very own* perfume making experience, here are a few things to keep in mind to ensure you have the best experience possible:

  • Perfume Making experiences will give you some perfume to take home. Depending on the experience, the amount of perfume you will get will vary. Typically, the more perfume you take home, the most expensive it will cost you. Be sure to compare your own experiences of interest if that is something that’s important to you before booking.
  • Upon booking your experience, be sure to book it in the language that you are most comfortable with. Since many perfume making experiences (such as at Fragonard) attract visitors from all across the globe, you want to be sure that you book your experience in the language that is best suited for you and your group.
  • It is highly recommended that you book your perfume making Nice, France experience in advance, as they can and will sell out especially during peak tourist season like in the Summer time.
  • While most make your own perfume experiences are typically intended for an hour or less time-wise, they may take longer so be prepared to set aside a few hours for it and some shopping, too.
  • After your perfume making experience, enjoy shopping within the perfumery’s shop as well and support them!

Fragonard Perfume Factory Eze

Dating back to 1968, The Fragonard Perfume Factory in Eze gives visitors a glimpse into the brand’s perfume factory as well as its Cosmetic laboratory with an opportunity to make your own perfume.  What’s super unique about Fragonard’s business model and was mentioned within my tour is that Fragonard does not use extensive marketing or third party retailers such as Sephora or other department stores. Fragonard focuses its energy on curating the best fragrances, soaps, skincare, and overall high-quality products to sell to consumers. Fragonard is also a family-owned business with locations, as previously mentioned, in Grasse and Paris in addition to Eze.

Fragonard offers group tours of their factory and cosmetic labs as well as their perfume making class. The group aspect makes it such a wonderful and interactive way to take it all in.

Click here to book the Fragonard Perfume Factory Tour in Eze

My Experience

My perfume making class at Fragonard’s Factory in Eze was such a fun and unique experience! Not only do you learn a ton about different scents like lavender, lilac, and rose and where they originate from, but you also get to take part in an interactive perfume making class with others. You make your own perfume and learn about the unique stories behind the Fragonard business, the cosmetic labs, and what goes into making a perfume. After my perfume making class, my group got to immerse ourselves into the cosmetic labs and then learn more about several perfumes that Fragonard sells within their shop, which was such a unique experience!

My perfume making group tour was offered in English, however, there are several other tours offered in different languages which are super cool. Many of my fellow group mates were either traveling solo (like myself!) or in a small group, and it was such a welcoming and fun environment for all whomever you came with (even if solo!). Tours of the Fragonard Factory in Eze are offered every 15-30 minutes and upon arrival it is easy to get immersed into your tour group when they are ready to begin.

After my tour and perfume making experience, I *of course* did a bit of shopping and grabbed some perfumes as a souvenir. The Fragonard shop is also a great spot to pick up gifts for loved ones, too (suticase-permitting!!).

Wrap-Up

Not only is perfume making in Nice such a unique way to remember a memorable trip, but also a great way to bring back something for yourself and for loved ones, too.

Your Guide To Wine Bars in Arlington, Virginia

Your Guide To Wine Bars in Arlington, Virginia

While this guide will focus more on wine bars in Arlington, Virginia, I do have an Old Town Alexandria, Virginia dining guide and Alexandria wine bar guide that highlights within Old Town Alexandria’s culinary scene! If you’re looking to explore wineries in Northern Virginia, then check out my running list of some of the many wineries a drive’s distance away here.

When dining at any of the Arlington wine bars, I highly recommend checking the wine bar’s website to see if they take reservations or not, as it varies. Most restaurants in Arlington take reservations and is a great way to plan in advance, as they are pretty popular and do get pretty busy especially during the weekends and even on the weeknights. Many of these restaurants also have happy hour which can be a fun way to enjoy an upscale restaurant at a fraction of the cost, however, I do recommend getting there as soon as it starts *even* on a Monday or Tuesday and checking the restaurant’s website beforehand and planning accordingly. The bottom line: be sure to check out the restaurant’s website before dining there!

Amazon Dresses You’ll Love If You Crave A Classic + Polished Look

Know Before You Buy

Before I start sharing some adorable classic + polished Amazon dresses, I am going to share a few things to note before you buy:

  • Prices on many clothing items (like everything else on Amazon) do fluctuate. It is worthwhile to monitor prices on Amazon, enjoy coupons when given the opportunity to.
  • Garments do come and go in and out of stock, like a lot of inventory on Amazon (or anywhere else).
